Lucia Friedrich (France, 1994) is a half German / Croatian painter. Speaking 5 languages, having lived in many different countries in Europe, she had her longest stay in Austria, where she studied painting at the Graphische in Vienna. Having not been accepted twice at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Lucia went her own way, having exhibited in the United States and twice at the Kunsthalle Museumsquartier Vienna, all before reaching the age of 21. Following serious illness and heavy trauma, Lucia went on a long break from public exhibiting, recovering while working privately. In 2021, Lucia worked on her first new body of work in a hospital in Vienna, where she was a stationary patient as well. Part of that work has been shown at the Red Carpet Art Award in Vienna (2022); following that, she exhibited in 2023 with UNESCO in Leiria, Portugal, where she lived for 2 years. She currently resides in Puglia, where she opened her studio, and where she had her first solo exhibition at Palazzo Roberti under the patronage of Mola di Bari in 2024.

Lucia’s work currently focuses on the body and the persona, contextually between the individual and the collective and their mutual relationship, as well as technically between figuration and abstraction.
